After 5 months of bedrest and several midnight
trips to the hospital, our little man is here! He
was born 7 weeks early, but only had to stay in
the Special Care Nursery for two weeks. At week
32, I went into labor and was given steroid shots
to help mature his lungs. After his delivery, he
didn't need to be intubated, just a nasal canula.
He stayed on supplimental oxygen for a week. He
had an NG tube, but it came out at 1.5 weeks. He
is now doing wonderfully! I
had an abdominal cerclage placed at week 12.
Without that and some really good tocalytic
drugs, Quinn would not be here. I started having
preterm labor at 20 weeks, so I was on three
anti-contraction drugs, a home monitoring system,
and was put on strict bedrest. We feel so
completely lucky! It was a lot of hard work for
the both of us, but it was well worth it. He is
incredible! Here are some pictures.
